Motorola Moto E: Battery life expectation, issues and test results

The new Motorola Moto E has got all the highlights in India, thanks to the awesome price and benchmark it has set among Moto series. Here we are going to discuss on Moto E Battery issues, life expectancy and how well it will rank among other devices when compared to similar range smartphones. The very popular handset revealed later last month was found buckling with battery problems and test issues as compared among reviewers who revealed their voice of thoughts. It was found that new Motorola's Moto E battery test gave positive score eliminating a negative setback that caused initial problems in the device.

When comparing to the similar range Android smartphones, the Moto E came out sparkling best with it's 1980 mAh battery power. Some Indian manufacturers like Micromax, Karbonn and Xolo have stiff competition to face in front of Moto E's lasting battery. The battery samples that were collected for reviewing and testing were obtained from Motorola's official store for Moto E devices. The test carried out were observed and a conditional based reference was obtained for the aforesaid battery test upon varied condition of usage.

Battery Test and Expectation results on varied usage

When Moto E was used heavily with full apps running, the battery result obtained was not impressive other than keeping it idle for a day. Here's a general say on the test.

Condition 1: When usage was very light almost negligible except picking up phone calls

The result that drove the condition was again surprising. The battery lasted easily for more than a day. In my circumstance, the battery lasted for 38.5 hours without having to charge even once. The phone calls were received and picked up, but usage of apps was kept to zero and no multimedia store usage was also preferred in this condition.

Condition 2: When usage was normal including usage of apps and calls received

The battery lasted easily for a day. In our case, it was almost 22 hours including normal usage of apps. Only light usage of camera and video was done to check the battery results.

Condition 3: When usage was heavy with apps running in background

The result was not so satisfactory as usual. If you are using it for continuous heavy usage with full background apps running, it will drain your battery pretty well enough as with other smartphones. The usage was shortened to 13 hours battery life. Try not to use heavy battery with apps being closed when you aren't using it so that you can save some precious battery at the end for important calls to be done at the end of the day.

Condition 4: Usage of camera, video taking high / low

The battery results also varied with its use. If you are the one who use camera frequently more often than not, it's the best smartphone you can bet on. Also battery life expectancy has a considerable stable effect when you take videos, customize photos and all. The normal running recorded was about 17 hours with apps running on background.

Result and Comparison with other similar smartphones

Moto E - White

If you look at Micromax's Canvas smartphones, you will be astonished to see that majority have 2000 mAh battery power with full 5" inch view. This is just inches more than Moto E's 1980 mAh powering the 4.5" screen. Infact you can safely say that Moto E has got the best performance battery in store as guaranteed by the company to you powering long life usage.

Karbonn has few Titanium series smartphones at similar price range powering a 1900 mAh battery but not as effective as Moto E's. The price point at which it has been launched in India is itself a compelling news among different competitors in Android category thereabouts.
